Why do I LOVE Working with Seniors and Sweethearts?
Ya’ll, I’ve been in your shoes. I have studied for hours on end in the library and stressed over due dates and dreaded group projects. I have gone on uncomfortable first dates, and analyzed every little text and snapchat I’ve received from a guy. I’ve had my ups and downs in school, work, and relationships. But what about when everything clicks? What about when you do so well in a class you are asked to create paid (!) study sessions for other students? What happens when you finally step up on that stage and accept that piece of paper you have worked so very hard for? And how about when you find that one person who makes you feel #allthefeels? Who makes you feel like you are the only person that matters, and laughs at cat videos while Skyping at 3am long distance? Ya’ll, I am so blessed to have been able to say that I’ve had these experiences as well. And while it is so rewarding to be able to rejoice in my accomplishments and my successful relationship, nothing beats being able to witness and share in these moments with others. I find the most joy when I am not only sharing in these moments with others, but capturing and preserving them for their lifelong enjoyment. There’s nothing like being able to share in the joys of others, and capture the intimate moments between couples -like when an inside joke is whispered and a couple bursts into smiles. Or soaking in the pride that new grads feel when asked about their degree, and where they are going on to work, or how they are going to celebrate the hard work that has paid off. I don’t find myself in the business of photography, I find myself in the business of making memories and of capturing smiles. Because I know that it is a long road to success, and a good relationship is so wonderful when it works. Being able to shoot these milestones, and catch a glimpse into a deep bond is some of the most rewarding work I can do.
