At the beginning of the month, I had the pleasure of photographing a sunrise Sweetheart Session for Kristina and Mike, at the Arboretum at Penn State. The two were second place winners of our Valentine’s Day #SweetSessionGiveaway !
How They Met
Kristina and Mike have been together since a fateful day at a Grad School orientation session for Penn State Meteorology, when Mike came in late and took a seat next to Kristina. They two got to talking, and Mike took Kristina to the orientation picnic. The rest, as they say, is history.
As meteorologists, Mike and Kristina enjoy looking up at the sky. Luckily, we had beautiful weather for our session, that included a gorgeous hazy fog. Having a sunrise sweetheart session brought this beautiful golden hour warmth to their photos that created a delicate glow with the looming fog. Such a perfect setting for for these two weather lovers!
At our session, they shared some of their favorite dates with me. The couple loves trying the local fare at various State College restaurants. The two enjoy traveling with each other, and took a scenic trip to the Grand Canyon this past fall.
One of my favorite places in State College is the Arboretum at Penn State. I am so thankful Kristina and Mike gave me the opportunity to shoot their sweetheart session here! Everything was in bloom, and there are so many hidden gems throughout the garden that I still have yet to explore. It is so scenic and serene, especially at 6:30 in the morning.
Some of the places we shot reminded me of an enchanted forest or “The Secret Garden”. It was full of peace and magic. I would 100% recommend a sunrise session in this spot to all local sweethearts.
