A lot has happened since my last blog, most notably my husband and I moved from Central Pennsylvania to Norman, Oklahoma. This is one of the hardest things I have ever done by leaving everyone and everything I know back on the east coast, but I know it will be worth it in the end. Honestly one of the hardest parts was trying to transport a cat who does not like their carrier across the country. It’s hard to believe we’ve been here a month, but we are enjoying our journey! Last month, we celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a wonderful (read: hot) day at the Oklahoma City Botanical Gardens, one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had at Rococo, and topped it off with the top of our wedding cake that my mom sent overnight from Virginia. Now that we are finally getting settled and not planning a cross-country move, I am able to get some blogging done
Now that we are finally getting settled and not planning a cross-country move, I am able to get some blogging done and can at last share about Jess and Mike’s wedding! Jess and Mike had a beautiful, intimate wedding in May with their children, family, and friends in attendance. It was a gorgeous clear day, perfect for some mountainside views. We arrived at the venue, decorated with sweet pale violet accents and many personal touches from the bride and groom.
Mike lit up when he saw Jess come down the aisle with her father, he was beaming with excitement. The bride and groom exchange simple, sweet vows, promising to stand by each other and the family they had created. I was so blessed to be able to watch this beautiful moment as their lives unfolded in front of them.
While searching for a spot for family portraits after the ceremony, Mike find a lovely arbor arbor adorned with pale purple flowers -as though they were waiting just for this couple. It was the perfect spot for the couple to have a singular and intimate moment together as husband and wife for the first time.
The day ended with some serious cake smashing from both the bride and groom. I was so honored to be a part of some of the most important moments in this family’s life, and wish them all the best on this new chapter.
